The photographs, taken digitally, are processed in black-and-white technique. Inspired by their beauty, the author uses this technical approach to clearly express his fascination with aesthetics and the striking contrast of white wings against the dark water background.
Skillfully manipulating the composition of the frame and the contrast of light and dark tones, the author equally succeeds in capturing the white color of the feathers, with all the richness of details in contact with water. Some photographic compositions require an equally careful and focused approach to understand the complex interplay of forms and textures.
All photographs were taken on the Korana River in Karlovac, between Foginovo River Beach and the wooden bridge, near Aquatika Freshwater Aquarium. A total of 24 black-and-white photographs in 50×70 cm format is exhibited, along with 50 color digital photographs projected on a large screen within the exhibition space. The black-and-white photographs were taken over the past few years.
The first swans arrived on the Koran River at the end of 1990 and have remained loyal to this day. The swans were faithful even during the war years, and Dinko Neskusil has been photographing them for almost 35 years.
The exhibition will remain open until April 8, 2025.
