The exhibition showcases beekeeping equipment, tools, and literature, complemented by artwork created by students from local and regional schools. Through the exhibition and honey tastings, the event promotes the production and consumption of bee products as healthy, natural food.
Beekeepers from Karlovac and surrounding areas participate in the honey competition. After honey samples are analyzed at the Faculty of Agriculture in Zagreb, they are categorized into floral, chestnut, wild cherry, lime, honeydew, and honeydew. The most common varieties are chestnut and floral honey. Every year, the best honey is selected, and others are classified into gold, silver, or bronze categories. For years, the champion honey in the competition has been chestnut honey.
